A false positive test: A false positive test would mean that the pregnancy test kit shows that you are pregnant when you are not. But be sure to check with your gynecologist once you notice a positive result, no matter how faint the line or the color is.  A false pregnancy test might show up if a blood protein is present in your urine or if you are taking certain drugs like tranquilizers, anti-convulsants, or hypnotics.

A false negative test: A false negative test means that the pregnancy test shows that you are not pregnant while you already have a fertilized egg instilled in the wall of your uterus. So if you get a negative pregnancy test result and still face the symptoms of pregnancy it’s better to repeat the test a week later to confirm the results. A false negative test can be due to the affect of certain medications, such as diuretics or antihistamines or your test was pass the expiry date, your urine was very dilated or you have taken the test too early in your pregnancy.
